Insanity Artists Agency Ltd

Andy Varley is a serial entrepreneur. His first dabbling into the world of commerce was a computer software company called Insanity PD which he registered at the age of 12. Andy found a niche in the lucrative computer software market, purchasing software in the public domain, duplicating it and selling it on for a profit, thus exploiting the copyright loophole. The products sold were purely for the Amiga computer platform. Insanity PD traded successfully growing from a small base of regular clients, to an enormous customer base spanning 4 continents. When Amiga computers were discontinued, demand for the software began to drop, and with internet becoming widely available in the domestic environment, the market for public domain software became overcrowded. As one of the UK's youngest businessmen, Andy's success was well documented in the national press, with stories running in publications from The Telegraph to the Trinity Mirror Group. In 1997 Andy was awarded the title of Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Throughout the 90's, Andy's interest in music and entertainment became more and more apparent. In 1997 he launched Insanity Entertainment, an event management and promotions company. Organising live events across London and South East England, Insanity Entertainment was an instant success. Due to the enormous number of artists and musicians that were passing through the Insanity Entertainment event ranks, the company naturally evolved into more artist lead activities, from management to plugging.

In 1999, Andy was asked to join a consortium of music management professionals to setup a charity to pioneer new music in South East England. Andy went on to be a founding trustee of Medway Music 2000, a registered charity, creating opportunities for young musicians and promoting a yearly festival called Parklife, which attracted upwards of 14,000 people.

From 2000, Andy studied for an undergraduate degree obtaining second class honours as a Batchelor of Business Administration (with honours). Throughout the course of the degree, Andy continued to build Insanity Entertainment, employing two members of staff to ease the work load.

By 2003, the company trading activity had become more and more centred on the role of a music agent. Andy made the decision to rename the company and incorporate it as Insanity Artists Agency Ltd, the name it continues to adopt today. Andy is an associate trade member of BEDA (Bar Entertainment and Discotheque Association), afull member of the Agents Association of Great Britain and a member of the Music Managers Forum.

With a roster of talent spanning music, television and radio, Insanity Artists Agency Ltd is one of the largest agencies of its kind in the UK. In December 2006, Andy announced a joint venture with Eminence Leisure, the account holders of the largest publicly incorporated leisure estate in the UK. The new company Action Talent (International) Ltd commenced trading in April 2007 combining the exclusive music rosters of both companies to create a larger agency. Action Talent (International) Ltd employs two full time members of staff. Insanity Artists Agency Ltd will continue to represent the majority of the company roster on an independent and exclusive basis, with five full time agents.

2007 will see Andy join forces with US entrepreneurs to build a global music marketing and promotions company called BEAT Global. In addition, the Insanity Artists Agency management roster will be streamlined as ITM London Ltd.
